LAKE GENEVA, Wis. – Come for the connection and fun, stay for the information and inspiration at the 4th annual Women’s Resource Fair with this year’s theme, Harmonious Living. The Women’s Resource Fair will be held at Gilbert’s Restaurant and Bella Vista Suites, 327 Wrigley Dr., Lake Geneva, on Friday, March 7, 11 a.m. – 6 p.m. and Saturday, March 8, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. The fair features 35 local experts offering information, products and services and 25 lectures in the areas Health & Wellness, Education, Holistic Products, Retreats, Organic Foods and Nutrition. New this year, the fair presents a panel of health experts on Saturday, March 8 at 10:30 a.m.: Wake Up & Be Well: Ways To Take Charge of Your Own Healthcare From Insurance and Supplements to Doctors and Alternative Medicine, Walk Into Wellness; Nordic walk around historic Lake Geneva on Saturday, 9:00-10:00 a.m. ; and on Friday, March 9 a women’s gathering event 4-6 p.m.: Wine, Women & Wisdom featuring organic wine tasting and special demonstration on self defense. The Fair is sponsored by Pathways Medical & Holistic Health Center, Gilbert’s Restaurant, Gooseberries, Lake Geneva Wine Festival, The Week and WLKG. During the fair, Gilbert’s offers a special menu featuring affordable and organic lunch and dinner.

The Women’s Resource Fair’s mission is to educate women about health and wellness while providing them with local resources to aid them and their families. Each year it offers experts to share information and educate on topics of interest while providing access to local health and wellness professionals. The 2008 lecture highlights include: Eat Right for Your Type; Toxic Beauty: Not All Cosmetics are Created Equal; Breast Health; Our Quest for Peace: 2008; Medicine Interaction Safety; Simple Ways to Live a Green Life; Tai Chi & Self Defense demonstrations along with 20 other topics.

Keynote Healthcare Experts Panel

Wine, Women & Wisdom Reception
On Friday, March 7, women are invited to gather from 4-6 p.m. at the fair for its Wine, Women & Wisdom sponsored by Lake Geneva Wine Festival and Gooseberries. Come sample delicious organic foods and wines while discovering all the fair has to offer. The wine reception is included with the admission donation. Ongoing self-defense wisdom demonstrations will be offered during the reception.
Walk Into Wellness
Join the fair’s new Walk into Wellness on Saturday 9:00-10:00 a.m. This Nordic Walk through the historic district, beginning and ending at the Fair, will be lead by Clear Water Outdoor’s staff. The walk will include a scenic tour of the historic Lake Geneva and all are welcome. Nordic Poles will be provided. A suggested donation of $10 benefits Friends of Lakeland School. Refreshments will be provided by Gooseberries and Pathways Holistic Health and Wellness Center at the end of the walk.

The Women’s Resource Fair is a woman-owned cooperative directed by an Advisory Circle of community leaders. The mission of the Women’s Resource Fair is to give individual practitioners, non-profits and businesses who serve women, a greater opportunity to enrich the lives of all women through the collective presentation of their services, products and programs and to offer all women a central, credible source for finding enrichment for their lives.
